Walks & Waterfalls

Here at Nantcol Waterfalls this privately owned farmland boasts natural beauty amongst its woodland and river – it’s too pretty to be kept a secret so we’ve created four different walks for you to explore nature.

All walks start from the Car Park and eventually bring you back to your starting point.

The original Nature Trail opened in 1970 has information plaques along the route that will explain the formation of this terrain through the centuries and will take around an hour to complete. The Children’s Island Walk is situated near the picnic area and is a small circular walk identifying different species of trees. A haven for safe exploration! a 10-minute walk.

The Riverside Walk is exactly that! It follows the course of the river Nantcol passing the waterfalls before circulating back to the Woodland Walk and bringing you safely back to the Car Park and should take you no more than an hour and a half to complete.

The Woodland Walk takes you through a mature woodland passing a derelict homestead. This woodland was fenced off in 1983 so has been allowed to flourish naturally.
