Award Winning Hill Farm

Award Winning Hill Farm

We farm a total of 800 acres, 400 acres here at Nantcol Waterfalls and a further 400 acres at the neighbouring village of Dyffryn Ardudwy. We specialise in Sheep production only. At the moment we have around 750 ewes producing in the region of 1,000 lambs, our lambing season begins in February and lasts for about 10 weeks. We sell most of our lamb through local Livestock Markets at Bryncir and Dolgellau.

In 2005 we were awarded with an All Wales Agri–Environmental Award for our conservation and diversification work on the farm;

and in 2009 won the ‘Champion of the Champions’ Agri–Environmental Award, presented to us at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show.

The farm is mainly rough untreatable hill land and attracts an abundance of wildlife and rare plants. Since 1992 we have participated in Conservation Schemes thus protecting and enhancing any wild habitat within the farm area. In addition it has allowed us to improve and maintain hundreds of metres of ancient stone walls that form an important part of this specific area.
